Transformative Programming Works is a coalition of formerly incarcerated leaders and 96 community-based organizations (CBOs) that offer healing and restorative justice programs in California prisons.

All incarcerated people should have access to quality programs.

We advocate at the state level for increasing access to CBO programming for all people living in California prisons, and to accelerate the impact of sentencing reforms towards our North Star goal of decarceration.

Everyone is capable of positive growth.

  • "These groups honestly change you. They allow you to get out of your comfort zone, they allow you to push yourself because other people see you in a different light."

  • "They all have broadened my thinking and help me see that my choices affect not only me, but everyone around me, and the community as a whole."
