Funders and allies are invited to a conversation between Transformative In-Prison Workgroup Advocacy Director, Kenneth E. Hartman, and abolitionist thinker Dr. Ruthie Wilson Gilmore on the case for healing in prisons.

Hear from formerly incarcerated people about how important participation in healing programs was to their freedom. Followed by, a presentation of our signature “One Percent Campaign” and the key role funders can play in the campaign for healing our fellow community members inside.

The TPW operates from the baseline position that people in prison are members of our communities. We believe that providing access to healing is a fundamental step toward disrupting the status quo of mass incarceration. Strengthening the social safety net so that it breaches the walls is an act of decarceration.
